Panchakarma

Panchakarma eliminates accumulated impurities from the mind-body physiology; it is essentially a detoxification program. Pancha in Sanskrit means “five,” and karma means “action” and refers to five different purifying and rejuvenating procedures in Ayurveda. Today, as improper diet, stress, and environmental hazards abound, panchakarma can be of great help.

Panchakarma has evolved throughout the years and the modes of practice have differed throughout India.

  • We provide panchakarma therapies for admitted patients as well.
Here are the five classical elements that make up panchakarma therapy as they were originally written:
Basti: Herbalized oil enemas
They are made up of herbalized oils that flush out your intestinal tract, accessing the deeper tissues and eliminating fat-soluble toxins. While it may not sound appealing, the whole process is gentle and gives excellent results on many levels.
Nasya: Nasal irrigation
Nasya, or nasal applications, are medicinal oils that are applied throughout the nasal passages, clearing the sinuses and draining excess mucus. If you suffer from chronic sinus problems or allergies, you may find relief. This step can feel soothing and calms your mind.It also helps in hair related problems.
Vamana: Therapeutic vomiting
In this treatment, a patient is given inside and outside oleation and fomentation treatments for few days which includes therapies and some ayurvedic medicines. Once the toxins get melted and accumulate in upper cavities of body, the patient is given emetic medicines and decoction. This enables vomiting and helps in disposing of the poisons from the body tissues. Vaman treatment is particularly suggested basically for kapha-dominated conditions, such as weight gain, asthma and hyperacidity.
Virechana: Purgation
In virechan, purgation or disposal of toxins happens through the clearing of the bowels. In this treatment too, the patient is given inside and outside oleation and fomentation treatments. From that point onward, the patient is given a natural purgative to encourage clearing of the guts that aides in purifying the body of toxins. Virechan treatment is prescribed fundamentally for pitta -dominated conditions, such as herpes zoster, jaundice, colitis, celiac infection etc.
Raktamokshana: Bloodletting
This treatment is useful for cleaning of blood and viable against ailments caused because of impure blood. It can be done in a particular area or for the whole body. This treatment is especially valuable in different skin infections, such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and furthermore in local lesions such as abscesses and pigmentation.

The program is specialized and is designed to cleanse your body. It is often recommended to stay in-house for treatment in order to get the most out of the experience.
There are three main components of the panchakarma process:
Preparation phase (poorva karma)– The preparation phase is designed to prepare your body for elimination of imbalances. It includes steps that are meant to soften and help encourage the release of stored toxicity.
Principal procedures (pradhana karma)– your focus is on the elimination of toxins. This is where the five classical therapies would take place.
Post-therapy procedures (paschat karma)– also considered the rejuvenation phase, is the time to implement the tools that have been taught to help sustain the new and improved you. Ayurveda emphasizes the need to rekindle one’s agni to prevent unhealthy accumulation. This is accomplished through regular practice of the following:
